A Pet for Easter

It is always fun to welcome a new member to the family on Easter. A pet is a surprise all children like. It teaches them how to love and care for a life and gives them something they can call their own.

Some Easter favorites include baby chicks and rabbits. There are many different breeds of chickens and rabbits. Remember just like all people, animals have their own personalities. So take your time to find just the right fit for your family's individual needs.

Take the time to show them how to correctly hold their new pets. Explain that they must be gentle. Animals are fragile and have feelings too. Let them know that they can scare or even hurt their little critter if they are not careful. Tell them their pet will learn to love them if they are kind to them.

With a little help from you, your children will enjoy taking care of your new pet. Show them what they eat, how much and how often. They will need to give their animal fresh water every day. You can even teach them how to change their bedding when necessary and what kind of bedding you use.

Having a pet is a lot of work, but it has such great rewards. It will give your child a sense of responsibility and pride.
