Abe Lincoln’s Log Cabin

While your child is busy gluing and cutting the pieces out for this craft, it's a good opportunity to talk about what it must have been like to live in a log cabin. Get a book from the library that would help you give some specifics about what Abraham Lincoln and his family would have done each day for chores in order to keep warm and snug in a log cabin. Talk about the hardships and the benefits in living such a simple life and help your child understand the lessons this has to teach us all.
