Animal, Bird or Fish

Playing games after the big Thanksgiving meal will give the whole family time to relax, enjoy each other and have some fun. Too many of us, including our children, have a tendency to eat way too much and really don’t feel like being very active. This game is one way to get the family together again after leaving the table and still have a good time. Here’s how it is played.

How to Play

Anyone can play this game. Even the smallest of children can play. Start by pointing to someone in the room and calling out their name. After you say their name you must say animal, bird or fish. Then they must name something from one of those categories. For instance, you point at your youngest child and say their name followed by the word animal. They must say a type of animal such as a dog. If no one else has said dog then they continue in the game. If someone else has said dog they are eliminated from the game. Play continues until there is only one person left to play.

This game can come to an end pretty quickly or may last awhile depending on how much the food eaten effects the brain cells. If it comes to a quick end and people still want to play change it around some. You could play fruit, vegetable and meat. Of course most of your family will be so full they won’t want to think about playing a game that entails food so try something geared toward sports or Thanksgiving itself. Just remember you want to include the children no matter what their age so try to keep it as simple as possible for them.

Playing games that keep the brain stimulated after the big meal can be a means of keeping the family together. It also helps children who may become bored. This game will keep his or her attention and make everyone think. Have fun with it and see if you can catch that uncle watching the football game instead of paying attention.
