Need a fun activity that will give the kids something to do and keep you and them cool during the hot summer months? These animal fans will do the trick. They are fun to make and to use!

What You’ll Need

construction paper
pencil
scissors
cereal box or cardboard
glue
markers
large popsicle stick or dowel
tape
markers, glitter glue and other art materials - optional

Instructions

1. On the construction paper, draw a favorite animal, any animal will work. Cut it out. Option: You can either draw just the animal face or you can draw the entire body outline. It's up to you.

2. Glue the construction animal onto one side of a cereal box or a piece of cardboard. Cut the cereal box or cardboard along the edges of the drawing you made. If cardboard is too difficult to cut you may want to consider another stiff paper such as a firm posterboard or tag board.

3. Tape a large popsicle stick or dowel to the back of the cardboard to make a handle for your animal fan.

4. Decorate your animal fan. Add details and embellishments using markers, glitter glue, 3D paint, wiggly eyes or other art materials.
