Apron-From-A-Dress

Outgrown a favorite dress? Don't throw it out yet! Turn it into a pretty apron!

What You’ll Need

Old dress, preferably with a balloon skirt
Scissors
Sewing supplies (by hand or machine)
2-inch wide ribbon

Instructions

1. To make a half-apron, cut the dress at the waist just above the waistband if there is one.
2. Cut the resulting skirt at the center back all the way from the waistline to the hem. If the dress has a waist sash, leave it on.
3. To make a full apron, cut off the sleeves and entire back side of the dress.
4. Finish the new raw edges by sewing them by hand or machine.
5. Attach two lengths of ribbon at the waistline.
6. On a full apron, attach ribbons at the shoulders as well.
