Mix together 2 (two) cups plain flour, 1 (one) cup salt, 1 (one) to 1 1/2 (one and a half) cups cold water, and 2 (two) tablespoons cooking oil.Optional: Food coloring can be used to create different colors of clay. 2. Knead everything together until it forms a soft ball. 3. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, roll out the salt clay and use cookie cutters to create the shapes wanted. 4. Push a straw into the clay to create a hole for hanging as an ornament. They can also be used to make magnets or jewelry. 5. Bake the shapes in a 300 degree oven for at least an hour or until hard. Your child can paint the shapes after they cool. You can also finish the shape off by putting a coating of clear acrylic on them. This will help them last longer. |
