> Easter Day Activities Beautiful Handmade Tissue Paper Easter BouquetsWhat You’ll Need* Tissue paper in various pastel colors* Green pipe cleaners (eight per child) * Styrofoam blocks (optional) * Plastic or glass vases in different shapes and sizes (one for each child) * Scissors (one for each child) * Ribbon in various colors InstructionsClear a space on the kitchen table. Gather supplies and round up all the children.Give each child their own vase, pipe cleaners (8) and a pair of scissors. For younger kids an adult can complete the cutting part of this activity. Have each child choose colors of their liking for the flowers from the tissue paper selection. Take several sheets of the tissue paper and roll them together. Wrap the center of the rolled up tissue paper with one of the pipe cleaners. Twist pipe cleaner to secure in place. Create folds in the tissue paper by separating each sheet and folding to create your flower. Pull the edges of the tissue paper up covering the end of the pipe cleaner. If the tissue paper is longer than necessary, use scissors to cut it to your desired length. Once bouquet is complete, wrap a piece of ribbon around it and tie. You can now place the bouquet in their vase. To stop the flowers from tipping out of the vase, cut a piece of Styrofoam so that it fits into the bottom of each vase. Place the ends of the pipe cleaner into the Styrofoam. Enjoy! |
