Birds of a Feather PictureThis is a simple craft that can be used to teach a variety of lessons. By using realistic drawings and colors, your child will learn to identify birds and the seasons in which they appear. Or you may wish to have your child use their imagination and create some fanciful birds just to match their room. Whatever you do, your child's bird picture will be one of a kind! What You’ll Needfeathers (any assorted, you can purchase bags of feathers rather inexpensively at craft shops)pencil heavy paper or cardboard glue colored paper scissors wiggly eyes (optional) markers Instructions1. Draw the outline of a bird on the heavy paper or cardboard. Lay the feathers inside the bird outline, gluing as you go to fill in the drawing of a bird. Layer the feathers for a more realistic effect. Continue until you have filled in the entire drawing, except for the feet and beak.2. Draw and cut out the bird's feet and beak from colored paper. Glue in place. Use colored paper to draw and cut out the eyes and glue in place. Or glue on wiggly eyes. |
