> A Bugs Life Activities Bug Finger PuppetsBugs are a favorite theme among most kids. Especially when they are as fun as these creatures! You can go "buggy" with these fellas by adding construction paper "faces" and really creepy features like too many legs... or even stingers! Don't forget to look through pictures before you begin. You'll find a lot of ideas for some pretty unusual bugs. What You’ll Needconstruction paper (think bug color)scissors tape pom-poms wiggly eyes glitter glue or other embellishments (optional) Instructions1. Cut construction paper into a rectangle shape so that it will wrap around the child's finger comfortably forming a tube that will slip on and off. Tape the construction paper into a tube.2. Glue a pom-pom to one end of the tube to make the bug's head. Add wiggly eyes. (If you don't have wiggly eyes, cut small circles, draw your bug's eyes and glue to front of pom-pom.) Cut small strips of construction paper and fold to look like antennae. Glue to pom-pom. 3. Make wings out of construction paper in any shape you want and glue into place. If your bug has legs, cut them out of construction paper in the form you want and attach to the tube with glue. 4. If desired, embellish the puppet with glitter glue, 3D paint and other decorative materials. 5. Let dry completely. (If you've made several it might be handy to open your dishwasher and place the tubes over the plate holders to dry.) 6. Slip the bug or bugs on the child's fingers and let the bug puppet play begin! |
