Cardboard Stick Horse

Make these stick horses then pretend to be cowboys!

What You’ll Need

wrapping paper cardboard tubes
cardboard or cereal box
pencil
scissors
yarn
glue
markers

Instructions

1. Draw and cut out a horse's head from a piece of cardboard or the back of a cereal box. Cut yarn to make a mane and glue to the horse's head. Use the markers to add eyes, nostrils and a mouth. Attach to one end of the cardboard tube.

2. Decorate the cardboard tube with markers to add a saddle and other details.

3. Tie pieces of yarn together to make a tail. Attach to the other end of the tube.

4. Now go riding on your horse!

Stick horses can be a lot of fun to make so be sure to have all the supplies out as it is easy to put one together in an afternoon. To make this have a dimensional head try helping your child cut head pieces from more then one piece of cardboard or cereal box. Make one piece each for the front and back and two pieces for the sides. Help your child with this step so the head will fit together well!
