> Christmas Activities Chocolate Spoon GiftsThere are always many people on our Christmas list that we feel we need to remember at Christmas time. It might be a teacher, the postman or even a delivery person. Trying to find something small and unique to give can be a frustrating adventure. This year why not let the kids make chocolate spoons. They are so easy and your dear friends will enjoy receiving such a treat for Christmas. What You’ll Need* Semi sweet chocolate* Plastic spoons * Plastic wrap * Twist ties * Christmas ribbon DirectionsBe sure the chocolate you get is semi-sweet. The sweet taste of chocolate will be an added treat to someone’s coffee or tea when used. Melt the chocolate in the microwave according to package directions.Once the chocolate is completely melted and smooth let the children dip the plastic spoon into the chocolate. It needs to be covered from top to bottom so a pair of tongs may come in handy to keep down the mess. Lay the coated spoons on a piece of wax paper to cool and harden. Once the chocolate has become hard wrap the spoon in decorative plastic wrap. There are plastic wraps that come with all types of designs at Christmas time. Santa, snowflakes and even Christmas trees can be found on many different types of wrap. Place the twist tie around the handle at the bottom of the spoon cup. Be sure they twist it tight so the plastic wrap doesn’t lip off. Then tie a festive Christmas bow around the twist tie. Now you have a wonderful treat to give all those people who deserve a little something at Christmas time. Chocolate spoons made by children might be one of the best gifts you give this year. |
