> Christmas Activities Christmas Scene In a BoxIf you could sum up one place to capture your feelings about Christmas, this may be it. Once you start adding features to your 'room' you won't be able to stop. You'll want to keep your Christmas Scene where it's handy so you can keep right on adding to it as the Christmas Season changes. What You’ll Needcardboard box, be sure it's a good sizescissors craft knife gift wrapping paper tape construction paper or colored paper old Christmas cards (or other source for Christmas items like tree, wreath, fireplace, etc.) cereal box (for stiff backing if needed on Christmas scene pictures) Optional: tinsel, sequins, fuzzy fabric for rug, fabric for drapes Instructions1. Cut all four flaps off of one side of a cardboard box. Wrap the outside of the cardboard box with Christmas gift wrapping paper.2. Cover the inside of the box with colored paper or gift wrapping paper. You could also cut out different pieces of gift wrapping paper and glue them along several different inner wall of the box to make it look like wallpaper in separate rooms. 3. Cut out Christmas decorations from old Christmas cards. These should include a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, gifts, fireplace with stockings, etc. If you can't find some images, print some free ones from the Internet, or draw them yourself on a piece of plain paper. You will need to glue the images that you print out to the back of a cereal box to make them more sturdy. The Christmas cards will probably be stury enough. 4. Tape the decorations from Step 3 to the floor of the box. Make it look like a room in a house. You could add pieces of tinsel along the walls or sequins to look like Christmas ornaments. You may want to cut out pictures of cats or dogs or include pictures of your family to complete your 'home'. 5. Place your Christmas scene in a prominent place for all to admire! |
