Circus Party Invitations

For any birthday party, the first thing to start with is the invitations. They should be fun and spark the invited child’s interest in what may be going on at this party.

Here are three ideas for invitations you can use for your next circus party.

What You’ll Need

Pre-printed invitations
Cardstock
Glue
Popcorn bags
Pictures
Packing Peanuts

Instructions

1. The invitations can always be chosen pre-printed from a party store. Make a list of the children that your son or daughter wishes to invite to their party. Let the birthday child pick out the invitations. Birthday invitations come in packs of eight or ten. If more than one pack is needed, choose a different circus invitation for subsequent packs.

2. Homemade invitations are fun to make. Find a picture of a clown face on the Internet or in a greeting card program. Take a picture of the birthday child and cut away everything except the face. Glue the picture of your child to the clown picture making sure to cover the clown face completely. Scan the picture into the computer or go to a print shop to make copies on cardstock paper. This is the outside cover of the invitation. On the inside, make sure to include the date, time, and place where the birthday party will be held.

3. Another invitation idea involves popcorn bags. The red and white striped bags can be purchased from a paper store. Glue a picture of your child to the front of the popcorn bag. Surround the picture with silly circus stickers. Fill the bag with multicolored packing peanuts, the kind they use to ship delicate items. On a postcard size piece of cardstock paper print a title such as, “Welcome to (your child’s name)’s Big Top!” Below that, put the date, time, and place of the party, also including a phone number for the parents to R.S.V.P. by a certain date.
