Colorful Bird

Crafts are alway fun, but, when you can make a craft that actually 'does' something - that makes it all that much 'more' fun! Now you can make a colorful bird that will really fly!

What You’ll Need

Toy Airplane Glider - made from balsa wood, cardboard, or Styrofoam
Masking Tape
Craft Feathers
Glue
Markers
Pipe Cleaner
Scissors
Googly Eyes
Felt

Let's Get That Pretty Bird Ready To Fly!

1. Give the bird legs by attaching the pipe cleaner to the middle body of the glider. Cut shorter pieces of pipe cleaner and twist around the end of the legs to make claws.

2. If the glider is made of Styrofoam, cover it with strips of masking tape. Otherwise, the feathers won't stick. Glue feathers all over the glider. Don't put too much or the bird will become too heavy to fly!

3. Draw eyes and other features with the markers. Or you could use googly eyes instead and maybe some pieces of felt for some of the features.

4. Wait for the glue to get good and dry, so you don't lose the feathers when the bird embarks on his first flight!

4. Take your bird outside and let it glide through the air!
