Costume Scavenger HuntAll kids love a scavenger hunt. It doesn’t matter if they are preschool, tweens or teenagers. It is a fun activity that gives your children a chance to use their minds and their bodies. A costume scavenger hunt will give your children a chance to look at all the different types of costumes people can come up with. What fun they will have looking for the “Great Pumpkin” or “Glenda the Good Witch.” Here’s how to go about it. How to PlayIf you live in a small town you might find that your community does a “Ghost Walk” for the kids in the town on Halloween. If you live in a large city many malls do trick or treating for the kids in the area. Either way most of the employees dress up for this fun time. Talk to your town’s local business’ and take a walk through your local mall to find out what people are dressing up as this year.Make a list of the costumes you want your children to find. Be sure to be specific just in case someone else has that same costume in mind. Most people who design their own costumes may come up with the same idea, but add their own special touches. Be sure to put this on the list so your child finds the correct one. Before they start on their hunt give them a copy of the list and a pencil. When they get to the designated area send them off on their scavenger hunt. When they find the person in the costume they are looking for tell them to explain to that person that it’s a costume scavenger hunt. They can then ask the person to sign their name next to the costume on the list or simply just check it off. The first person or team to find all their costumes and get all the signatures wins the game. This is not only fun for you to setup and your children to play, but it will be extra fun for the employees who worked so hard on those crazy costumes. |
