Cotton Ball Cloud Picture

Clouds form a background for every day of our lives. In all seasons and in all kinds of weather. There are many books about clouds and cloud formation. Try reading a book like Tomie de Paola's "Cloud Book". Then go outside and observe the clouds that day. Once you've completed this craft, repeat it through out a period of various weather and see how the pictures can recreate all the different weather you experienced together.

What You’ll Need

plain blue or gray construction paper, enough for several days of weather changes
cotton balls
glue
markers or crayons

Instructions

1. Read a story about clouds to learn about the different types of clouds. Then go outside and look at the various shapes that clouds make.

2. Recreate the different shapes and types of clouds on your construction paper. Unroll the cotton balls or tear them into little puffs to recreate the different cloud shapes that you just saw. Glue into the paper.

3. You may finish the drawing by adding houses, buildings or trees. Don't forget to go back to your cloud book and identify the clouds you saw that day.
