Denim Jeans Pillow

Keep enjoying a well loved, but well worn, pair of jeans by recycling them into a pillow! There are so many uses for this fabulously funny little pillow. If your child is small, this little pillow has a special pocket just for the tooth fairy. Or for the older child, the pockets are perfect places to stash little notes from the BFF. How about Dad's old jeans. They might be big enough for your child's favorite bed time book stuck in the back pocket. Come to think of it, you'll probably want the whole family of Pillows on your bed!

What You’ll Need

old denim jeans
scissors
polyester stuffing (such as quilt batting)
sewing materials (for hand or machine sewing)
Optional: fabric markers/pens, fabric paint, rhinestones, iron-on letters, etc.

Instructions

1. Cut off the legs of the jeans right under the crotch. Save the legs for another project.

2. Turn the jeans inside-out. Sew the raw edges closed. Sew the waist band closed. Turn right-side out.

3. Stuff the jeans through the zipper with polyester or cotton stuffing (quilt batting works well). Zip closed. (You may wish to hand sew the zipper shut, but I like to be able to remove the stuffing and throw the denim pillow case in the wash.)

4. Embellish the jeans with fabric paints, markers, pens, rhinestones, beads, etc. Place the child's name on one pocket using iron-on letters.
