Dinosaur Party Food and SnacksKeep the theme of your dinosaur party going with food and snacks! Don't overdo the sweets though. What You’ll NeedMakings for sandwiches: Bread, Lunch meat, Ketchup and MustardCookie cutters Sugar Cookie Dough Frosting Jello Utensils, Paper Plates DirectionsFor your dinosaur themed party, food choices can be fun when based on that theme. If you want to serve sandwiches, choose turkey or ham, with and without cheese.1. Use dinosaur shaped cookie cutters to create small sandwiches. Use a dot of ketchup or mustard to make an eye and sharp teeth on the sandwiches. 2. Place the ham and turkey on separate trays and clearly label which tray has which luncheon meat. Make a batch of fossil cookies using chilled sugar cookie dough. 1. Roll out the dough to about a fourth of an inch thick. 2. Take a sharp knife and cut bone shapes in the dough. Vary the size of the bones. 3. Some of the cookies can be the shape of a complete dinosaur. After they are baked, use icing to outline the fossil bones. Add chocolate sprinkles for texture. Paleontologists love to dig in the dirt. Let kids create their own pudding cups to resemble their digging ground. 1. Make a large batch of Jell-O® chocolate pudding. 2. Fill an eight ounce Styrofoam cup half full of pudding. 3. Offer the children all sorts of gooey additions for their dirt cups. 4. Crumble Oreo® cookies in a bowl to make the dirt. Buy bags of Gummi® insects like worms and spiders. If you can find them, get some candy dinosaur eggs. Let the children loose to create their own yummy, yucky-looking dessert cups. |
