> Dinosaur Activities Dinosaur Sock PuppetIsn't it great when kids discover dinosaurs? There seems to be a never ending fascination with dinosaurs that just opens up a whole world of exploration. This is one of the easiest ways to create a whole family of dinosaurs. You can stick just about anything on these little sock creatures and your child's imagination will fill in the play! What You’ll Needold sockscardboard scissors glue 2 rubber bands per dinosaur wiggly eyes felt sheets or construction paper markers Instructions1. Cut a circle from the cardboard. Fold it in half and apply glue to the inside edges. Push the cardboard into the toe end of the sock, pushing the toe end fabric inside so that it will stick to the glued edges on the inside of the mouth of the cardboard. This will form the puppet's mouth.2. Pinch two ends up from the heel part of the sock to form eyes. Tie with rubber bands. Glue a wiggly eye on each bump. If you don't have wiggly eyes, draw the eyes on with markers. 3. Cut a tongue out of felt sheet and glue inside the dinosaur puppet's mouth. Or you can use construction paper. 4. Cut the dinosaur's spikes from felt sheets or construction paper. Glue along the dinosaur's back. 5. Add other details and features with felt sheets, construction paper or markers. 6. Put on a dinosaur puppet show! Make a whole prehistoric village of dinosaurs by varying the spikes, color, size of mouth, etc. |
