Egg Carton Bugs

Kids can learn more about insects by creating their own!

What You’ll Need

Egg cartons
Scissors
Pipe cleaners
Construction paper
Glue
Markers

Instructions

1. Cut the egg cartons into smaller sections, depending on what kind of bug you'd like to make. To make an ant or other bug with a 3-section body, cut the egg carton so that it has 3 cups. To make a caterpillar, cut the egg carton half lengthwise. For smaller bugs such as ladybugs, cut individual cups from the egg carton.
2. Draw the bug's face on the front cup with the markers. Use the construction paper to add wings and other features.
3. Push lengths of pipe cleaners through the egg carton to make antennae and legs.
