Fall Leaf Suncatchers the Old Fashioned Way

This is an autumn tradition in our family. There are more 'modern' ways of making these suncatchers with adhesive paper, but our family used waxed paper and a hot iron. This method gives them a real old fashioned feeling. Something we can all get nostalgic about!

What You’ll Need

Big beautiful leaves from your yard in all colors, shapes and sizes. (This is oftentimes the most fun part!)
Wax Paper
An iron
Paper Bags
Yarn for hanging

Instructions

Put the leaves between two sheets of wax paper with the waxy side facing in.

Set the wax paper between two paper bags, and iron on the bags. (If you iron onto the wax paper, it'll burn. That's why you have the bags on top.)

The wax will melt and preserve your leaves.

Hang them in a window with orange or yellow yarn and enjoy your Fall Leaf Suncatchers.
