> Valentine's Day Activities Feel Good ButtonsFeel good buttons... just the sound of that puts a smile on my face. Can you picture the smile your child will have not only wearing them but creating them to give to all their friends and family. Here’s what they need to create these one-of-a-kind buttons. What You’ll Need* Construction paper* Valentine stamps * Scissors * Small safety pins InstructionsThese are so easy and simple for children to make. The can use any color of construction paper even red or pink if the want to. First take the construction paper and cut out any shape you like. It can be round, square, triangle or even rectangle if they want. Just remind them it is a button for someone to wear on their shirt or jacket so they don’t want it to be real big. When they have their shapes cut out they can use the Valentine stamps to stamp to their hearts content. Some stamps will have hearts or cupids on them. Others may have little sayings like smile I love you or be my valentine on them. Even smiley faces will work. Remember these are feel good buttons made to make everyone feel special. Once they have stamped their little heart out have the write the name of the person on the back of the button. That way they don’t get them mixed up when they hand them out. They may want to take them to school to give all their classmates so each one may be made for a certain person in their class. They want to make sure the right button gets to the right friend. Attach the safety pin to the middle back of the construction paper. It will be easy for the receiver to attach it to a shirt or jacket so they can wear it all day long. Now everyone your child knows has a feel good button. With your child’s own hand they have a button that will make everyone smile when they see it and wear it a smile that will last all day. |
