> Four Seasons Activities Four Seasons Mock WindowLook outside this window and see all the four seasons! What You’ll Needlarge cardboard box or 2 sheets of foam boardpencil craft knife old magazines scissors glue photographs string paint paintbrushes materials for decorating the frame, such as glitter glue, markers, stickers, etc. Instructions1. Cut off the two largest sides from the cardboard box. Or take two foam boards that are identical in size.2. On one cardboard/foam board sheet, draw a window with 4 window panes. Cut away the 4 "panes". 3. Place the window on top of the other cardboard/foam sheet. Trace the rectangular panes from the window. 4. Paint the window frame. Let dry thoroughly. 5. Meanwhile, on each window pane, glue on pictures from each of the four seasons. Collect pictures from old magazines, family photos, greeting cards, post cards, etc. If you can't find an image you want to use, draw it onto the backing instead. 6. Punch two holes on the top side of the backing. Tie a piece of string from one hole to the other to make a hanger. 7. When the window frame is dry, glue it on top of the backing so that the images you glued on the backing show through the window panes. embellish it with markers, glitter glue and other materials you have on hand. 8. Hang the mock window on the wall. Look "outside" the window and see all the four seasons at once! You can also transform this into a smaller setting by using smaller pieces of cardboard. Add a piece of ribbon on the back to hang up the small window near a desk or computer so you can have something fun to look at. It would be easy to create a few medium sized windows with different themes - have one window full of pictures from different seasons, another window full of hand drawn scenes. You can also use leftover fabric to cover the frame. |
