Gingerbread House with Grandma

I have 4 beautiful grandchildren and last year I decided to start a tradition with all of them -- making Gingerbread Houses with Grandma.

They loved it and enjoyed it so much that this year, we plan to do it again with just a little different slant. Last year, I sent each of them individual invitations to bring their mommy and/or daddy to my house on a day in December to build their own gingerbread houses with Grandma. We all had a ball!

Before they arrived, I had my house decorated for Christmas, made each
one of them an apron with their name on it and had the aprons wrapped as gifts. They opened the gifts and I bought each one a gingerbread house kit. We played Christmas music and the fun began. We videotaped it and took lots of pictures. It was messy, but really fun.

This year, we might do gingerbread families, so each one has to make a cookie resembling each person in their family.
