Girls Slumber Party DecorationsSince this party will occur at night it isn't necessary to overdo the outside decorations. Most of the decorating will be indoors in preparation for the night of fun with the girls. Have the girls arrive at least an hour or two before nightfall to get started with the festivities. What You’ll NeedPink balloonsCardboard/cardstock (for signs) Throw pillows Flashlights Slippers for each party attendee Black butcher paper Glow in the dark stickers Glow in the dark pen Confetti Streamers 1. Having a few outdoor decorations will be fun. Attach pink balloons to the mailbox so people know where the party is.
2. Create a series of signs for the walk up to the front door. Draw a picture of a pillow on one sign. On the next sign, draw a “+” sign. On the next, draw a picture of a girl. Continue to add as many signs as you choose, but they should all equal up to a slumber party. The answer after the “=” sign (slumber party) should be on a sign taped to the front door. It may be fun for your daughter if the front door is decorated with pink glittery paper. 3. Prepare the living room for the watching tv and game zone. If there is a color scheme, be sure to use color coordinated blankets and pillows. Cover the floor with a blanket, add pillows, bean bag chairs and flashlights (to be used later). 4. Line up slippers, a pair for each guest, along the floor. 5. Attach black butcher paper to the wall. Put the glow in the dark stickers on the paper along with writing the words "Welcome to (your daughter's name)'s Party." Don't forget to leave the lights on for the stickers to absorb the light. Once the girls turn the lights off, they will be able to see what is written! 6. Decorate the kitchen table for the food and cake. Use confetti for decor and coordinate the cups, plates, utensils and napkins with the theme. 7. Don't forget to decorate your daughters room! Hanging streamers with shiny stars and having plenty of throw pillows for the girls will be fun touches. 8. If the girls have picked to do manicures or pedicures, have a table set up with the things they will need. Don't forget the nail polish remover in case of an accident! *Tip: Place a big cardboard box near the inside of the front door for presents. Your daughter may want to open her gifts in her room or transport them to her room after opening them. A separate table dedicated for the presents is not necessary. |
