What You’ll Needshoe box with lidtape scissors or craft knife wrapping paper glue scrap fabric various objects Instructions1. Tape the lid to the shoe box to make a hinged lid. Or if you have a shoebox with a hinged lid, step one is done for you!2. Cut out a square or rectangular hole from one short end of the box. It should be big enough for a hand to go through. 3. Cover the shoe box and lid with gift wrapping paper. Alternatively, use colored paper, construction paper, pages from a magazine, or scrapbooking paper. Keep the hole you made in Step 2 open. 4. Cut 2 pieces of scrap fabric so that it is larger than the hole you made. Tape or glue it to the side of the box so that it covers the hole like a curtain. Make sure you can't see inside the box. 5. Fill the box with various objects from around the house. Make them as interesting as possible, with various textures and shapes. 6. To play guessing game, have somebody place their hand inside the box, feel the objects inside and guess what they are. You can also put the hole on the top of the box rather then the side, just be sure the fabric doesn't fall inside the box so someone can see the contents. You can also make themed boxes - maybe you have a young child and you can make one full of dinosaurs, cars, blocks and alphabet shapes. Also try using different sized boxes. |
