> Halloween Activities Halloween Decoration Scavenger HuntAll kids love a scavenger hunt, no matter what their age. It is a fun activity that gives your children a chance to use their minds and get a little exercise at the same time. A decoration scavenger hunt will help them to use their memory to find the decorations they have been looking at over the past few weeks. How to PlayThis type of scavenger hunt takes a little more time and preparation on your part. Start by taking a drive or walk around your neighborhood. Look for the Halloween decorations people have placed in their yards or on their house. Make note of the decoration, name of the family and street address. Now make a list of only the decorations you want your children to find. It can be anything from a ghost in the yard, to a certain type of door hanger, to pictures in the window or even that crazy decorated pumpkin your neighbor has on their porch. Be sure to make note on your list of the specific item you are looking for. For instance, if you find a ghost hanging from a tree with a red rope put that on the list. That way your little hunters will find that specific ghost. When you send your children out, be sure they have a copy of the list and a pencil to write down either the name of the family who lives there or the address of the house. If you have younger children team them up with teenagers or adults so they can play too. The first person or team to come back with all the decorations found at the right homes wins. Won’t it be fun watching them trying to remember where they saw that pumpkin with the straw hat on? I promise all involved will enjoy this little scavenger hunt. |
