> Halloween Activities Halloween Mask CraftSmall children love Halloween just as much as older children. Unfortunately small children scare very easily and they don’t get over it. So instead of the usual creepy crawly games and decorations why not let your little ones make their own Halloween masks. What You’ll Need* White paper plates* Scissors * Construction paper * Glue * Crayons, markers or colored pencils * Elastic string * Stapler and staples * Halloween pictures InstructionsPaper plates make the best masks. Before handing out the paper plates to the children you will need to work on them some. No mask can stay on all by itself. Take a small piece of the elastic string and staple it to either side of the paper plate. This will ensure your child’s mask will stay in place while putting on their skit.Place pictures of Halloween characters around on the floor or table where your children will be working. This gives your children an idea of what to make their masks to be. For instance you can put a picture of a witch or a bat on the table. Having something to go by helps their imaginations along and will help stop the frustration of trying to figure it out. Now let them go to town. They can pick a character and decorate their mask just like that character. They don’t have to be perfect. Whatever they see in the picture or however they see it will do just fine. Remember it’s their project and skit. You will have to help them when it comes to the eyes. You want them to be able to see where they are going and what they are doing. Once they have the eyes done use the scissors to cut small holes for them to see through. Once they all have their masks completed they can put on a skit just for you. This will fun and exciting. It’s all a matter of their imagination and their masks. They will have a lot of fun pulling this one off and so will you. Remember to take pictures because you’ll never have another Halloween quite like this one. |
