Hand Print T-shirtsWhat a perfect gift for your children to give a grandparent - a hand print t-shirt. They are easy for children to make and fun for a grandparent to wear. Here are some tips to help your children. What You’ll Need* light colored t-shirt* washable paint, any color * small paint brush * iron set * towel InstructionsYour children will only need a few items. Start with taking your children to buy a shirt. The best type of shirt is a t-shirt that is a light color. White works very well but many people would rather not wear a white shirt so any light colored shirt will work. They will also need a small paint brush and different colors of washable paint. These can be found at any department store or hardware store. Once you have the supplies your children can paint the shirt. There are two ways your children can place their hand print on the shirt. The first way and most messy way, is to pour the paint onto a cookie sheet. You will only need enough for your child’s hands. Let the kids put their whole had in the paint and then place their hand on the shirt to leave the imprint. The other way is for your child to place their hand on the shirt and trace around it with the paint brush. Which ever is easiest for you and your child is the way to go. After the hand prints are placed on the shirt your child can, with the paint brush and paint, print their name above or below the hand print. Once the shirt has dried completely, using an iron set the paint by placing a towel over the painted side of the shirt and ironing across the towel. Now it’s time to wrap the shirt and give to Grandma or Grandpa. |
