> Spring Activities Handprint Flowers & Home-made VaseThis is a really cute craft activity the kids will love. A great gift for family members, especially grandparents, you can also make a bouquet of flowers from all your child’s handprints. You can place your handprint flowers in a home-made vase too. What You’ll NeedSupplies You Will Need for the Flowers:* Yellow and pink construction paper for flowers * Green construction paper for leaves * Straws or green pipe cleaner * Pencil * Scissors * Clear Tape Supplies You Will Need for the Vase: * Empty toilet paper roll * Construction paper * Stickers, Crayons, Markers or any other decorating supplies you desire. * Paint & Brush (optional) * Scissors InstructionsTo Make the Flowers:1. Trace your child’s hand on one of the pieces of construction paper. 2. Cut the hand shape out and round the bottom. 3. Shape the bottom of the hand into a cone, being sure to leave a gap small enough for the straw to slide through, and tape the sides together. 4. Take the pencil and use it to curl the fingers of the hand down so that the flowers aren’t all sticking up. 5. Place a straw through the hand flower. 6. Use a small piece of tape to adhere the bottom of the flower to the straw. 7. Trace a few leaves on the green construction paper. 8. Tape those to the straw on either side of the straw. To Make the Vase: 1. Cut a piece of constructions paper in a circle bigger than the end of the toilet paper roll so it will act as a base and allow it to stand upright without falling. 2. Paint the toilet paper roll or wrap with construction paper securing with tape. 3. Decorate as desired with stickers, etc. 4. Once complete, place flowers in vase and enjoy! |
