Help Your Teenager Become a TutorYour teenager has been thinking about a part time job. You know your child is good in school and would like to help others. Why not suggest they become a tutor. Here are some tips to help them out.
Have your child pick one or two subjects they are good in and would feel comfortable helping others with. Be sure they are subjects that other children would need your teenagers help with in order to pass the school year. Some children would like to help with easy more fun subjects. Your teenager needs to tutor in subjects that will be helpful in life's journey. Next make sure your teenager has all the resources necessary to do the job. They will need their own schoolbooks, possibly other resource books, pens, pencils, paper and other materials used for that subject. Your child will need to get their services out there to other people. Both of you can talk to teachers, guidance counselors, friends, neighbors and acquaintances. Your teenager can also place flyers around to let people know they would like to tutor. Be sure you talk with your child about the responsibilities of being a tutor. They need to know they have to be professional and willing to do the job. Being a tutor can be very rewarding for you, your teenager and the people they help. With a good foundation your teenager can be proud of their tutoring accomplishments. |
