Homemade Valentine Tablecloth

Children love to get messy when they play, but they also like to use their imagination to create real things. Here’s a way for your children to create a masterpiece that everyone will appreciate, and enjoy on Valentine's Day or every day!

What You’ll Need

Start with a clean white sheet. If the table you want to adorn with our child’s masterpiece isn’t too large, a twin sheet should do. Measure the table to make sure the sheet fits okay.

* White sheet
* Pink and red ribbon
* Glue
* Paint
* Paintbrush
* Stencils
* Glitter glue

Instructions

Place the sheet on a flat surface and be sure to cover your children with an old shirt so they don’t paint themselves. Using the stencils and paint, let them go to town. They can make hearts, cupids with arrows and even rose bouquets. The can spell out Happy Valentine's Day or little sayings like "I love you" or "Be My Valentine". Whatever they can come up with to make the tablecloth festive for the holiday.

The glitter glue can be used to outline their designs. This will give their creation some sparkle. Be sure to allow the paint to dry thoroughly before adding any glitter glue or both will run and destroy their art.

They can use the ribbon to attach around the edges of sheet. All red or all pink is really cute but if they want to mix it up a bit have them do two sides in pink and the other two sides in red. They can also curl the ribbon with scissors to make cute decorations to hang from the corners of the tablecloth.

Once everything has dried place the tablecloth on a table where everyone can see it. This will keep the smile on those little ones faces and give them the enjoyment of knowing they have shown how much they care.
