Instant Skirt From A T-shirt

What You’ll Need

Old T-shirt wide enough to go around the child's hips
Scissors
1/4 inch elastic
Safety pin
Sewing needle and thread

Instructions

1. Cut the top part of the T-shirt just under the armholes. You should have a tube that is large enough to fit around the child's hips.

2. Turn the tube upside-down. The T-shirt's hem has become a casing.

3. Inside one side seam, make a small hole on the casing.

4. Wrap the elastic around the child's waist and cut to size.

5. Attach the safety pin to one end of the elastic.

6. Push the safety pin into the casing, gathering it as needed, until it goes all around the casing and out again.

7. Sew the ends of the elastic together.

8. Voila! An instant skirt!
