> St. Patrick's Day Activities Leprechaun Hat Table FavorsThis cute little idea is something kids can have great fun making and placing on their table at their St. Patrick’s Day party. You will have to help them a little bit when it comes to forming the hat, but they are easy to do and are as cute as a Leprechaun. What You’ll Need* Styrofoam cups* Cookie sheet * Aluminum foil * Green paint * Paint brush * Black and yellow construction paper * Scissors * Glue This first part is the part that your children may need help with. Place the Styrofoam cups upside down on a foil lined cookie sheet. Turn the oven on to the lowest temperature. Place the cookie sheet with the cups into the oven. Keep a close eye on them so they don’t completely melt. Allow the cups to warm and the bottoms to spread to make the brim of the hat. Remove the cups and allow them to cool completely.
Once the cups have cooled let the kids paint them green. While the paint dries, cut strips of the black construction paper to cover each hat. Glue the construction paper to the cup and trim off any excess. Make a buckle from the yellow construction paper. This is pretty easy to do by cutting two strips down and two slightly smaller strips that can be glued to the other strips. This will make your buckle. Attach it to the black band with glue. Now you have some really cute table favors. You can even add each child’s name with a green marker or glitter glue to use them as place cards. |
