Magnet Fishing

This is a fun activity for a rainy summer day! With simple things you have around the house, your young ones will stay busy for hours "fishing".

How to Play

* Construction Paper
* Scissors
* Pen
* Paperclips
* String
* Stick
* Small magnet
* Bucket, box or other container

Have the children draw various fish shapes on the construction paper and cut out (adult supervision for younger children please). Place a paperclip on the "nose" end of each fish and drop into your bucket.

Tie the magnet onto one end of the string and tie the other end onto the stick for your fishing pole.

The kids can then "fish" for the fish in the bucket.

You can add numbers to the fish and have them play math games with the fish.

Or you can make it extra difficult for the older kids by blindfolding them too!

Have fun!
