This activity is super easy and will gives hours of fun to dinosaur-lovers! It would be a good idea to get supplies to make several kits so you can give them for birthday gifts, Christmas gifts or just have something on hand when friends of your child come to play at your house. These also travel well since all the pieces can be stored in the container the felt is then stuck to.

What You’ll Need

empty cereal box
felt sheets in various colors
scissors
glue
tape

Instructions

1. Cut the top off the cereal box. Secure the bottom flap with tape.

2. Cover each large side of the cereal box with a felt sheet in the desired color. It would be fun to put decorative paper on the smaller sides of the cereal box like scrapbook paper or Christmas wrap.

3. Cut various shapes of different sizes and colors from the other felt sheets. You don’t have to cut out specific dinosaur shapes because your children will put the pieces together however they wish. It is a good idea to have the various sizes for that reason!

4. Use the shapes to create dinosaurs on the felt surface of the box. Afterwards, store the felt shapes in the cereal box.

Don’t forget to cut pieces for trees, grass and other plants!
