Make a Rainbow Bouquet

This activity is so fun because it includes the love of rainbows, flowers, and an experiment all in one. Your kids will be fascinated at the "magic" of the changing flowers!

What You’ll Need

* Several White Carnations
* Several colors of food coloring
* Several different jars or vases

Directions

You may have done a similar experiment when you were a kid where you dyed carnations with food coloring, and this just takes this activity one step further.

You can use as many carnations and colors as you would like - the more closely you can come to the rainbow colors the better.

Once you decide what colors that you will do, you simply need to fill each of your jars or vases with water. Be sure to add several drops of food coloring so that the concentration of color is high enough.

Then add one flower to each of your vases. This will also be a fun experiment to watch to see which colors cause the flowers to change the quickest, and which don't work quite as well (hint: red and blue usually work the fastest).

Happy Flower Dying!
