> Clothes Activities Make a DollMake a friend, make a twin. Every child needs a friend and who better to be close to than their own life-size twin! Idential or fraternal it's up to your little one to choose every last detail. What You’ll Need2 sheets of craft paper, large enough for the child to lie down onpencil scissors stapler old newspapers markers paints paintbrushes scrap fabric or old clothes other decorative materials Instructions1. Stack the two sheets of craft paper one on top of the other. Ask the child to lie down on the paper. For fun, try having the child posing different ways and see which one the child likes best. Trace the child's entire body. Cut through both sheets of paper.2. Staple the two body shapes together all along the edges. Leave a few inches open for stuffing. You might want to leave a few, one in the middle one on the top and one towards the bottom to make stuffing all areas easier. 3. Tear and crumple sheets of newspaper. Carefully stuff into the paper doll. When satisfied with the stuffing, staple the opening(s) closed. 4. Draw features using markers or paint. Add clothes using old clothes or scrap fabric, and embellish the doll with decorative materials. Optional: You might want to make the eyes or lips out of fabric or use some yarn for hair. For girls, if you've got some sequins glue them onto the ears for earrings. Use your imagination, dress up your twin and really bring him or her to life. |
