Mother's Day Ideas for the Young Ones

Here are just a few activities that younger children can do for Mom on her special day to show her just how much they love her.

- Read Mom a Book - There are a large variety of books about Mother’s Day that young kids can read to mom to celebrate!

- Hand print Gifts - Many pre-school aged children and even kindergarten students will make hand made gifts for mom at school for Mother's Day. One of the more familiar ones is the hand print craft. In this craft children trace their hands on a colored piece of construction paper and place a picture in the middle along with a loving message to mom. Laminating them will to help preserve them.

- You can also make a bouquet of flowers out of construction paper.

- Using a paper cup, a bit of soil and a flower seed, plant a flower a month or two before Mother's Day and present it to mom on her special day.

- Enlist the help of Dad and have the kids make a suprise breakfast in bed for Mom.

- Cut out various heart shapes and have the children write messages to Mom telling her why they love her and hang them throughout the house for her to see when she wakes up.

- Create a handmade card for Mom.

- Offer to do some chores for the day so Mom doesn't have to. Better yet, offer to do them for a week or more.

- Write a letter telling Mom how much she means to you.

- Go online and search for a Mother's Day Certificate of Appreciation. Print it out and give it to her letting her know how much you appreciate everything she does.
