You and your sweetie get to spend time together actually creating the beads that you'll use to build the necklace. With handmade beads you'll be able to personalize your necklace. You could spell out your name and your child's name, paint pictures of your favorite flowers on the beads, or anything that makes your necklace a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. What You’ll NeedTwo cups of flour1/2 cup of salt 3/4 cups of water 1 tablespoon of cooking oil paint paintbrush newspaper string toothpicks buttons are optional Instructions1) Mix the flour, water, cooking oil and salt in a medium size bowl.2) Mix them all together and knead the dough for 5 minutes. 3) Shape the dough into beads. Make different shapes and sizes. 4) Use your toothpicks to run holes through the beads you have made. (Make sure your holes are big enough to run the thread through once they are dry) 5) Let the beads air dry for a couple of days. 6) Once your beads are dried, paint them. 7) Let the paint dry beads. 8) String the beads (You can add the buttons between each bead) 9) Give them as a gift to your mom on Mother’s Day |
