Use shells to decorate a box to keep mementos in!

What You’ll Need

pebbles or small shells
strong glue
plain wooden or cardboard box
PVA glue
paintbrush
paints and markers - optional

Instructions

1. Collect small pebbles and shells. Think about how you would like to arrange the pebbles or shells on the box. You could also put some together to form the shape of a flower or other design.

2. When you have decided on your design, attach the pebbles/shells to the box with strong, quick-drying glue. Let dry completely.

3. If you like, you can paint the pebbles/shells or add designs with markers.

4. Brush PVA glue all over the pebbles or shells to make them shiny.

5. Use to keep mementos or as a gift box!

If you make this craft with a box with a lid, you can also decorate the sides of the box with shells. One idea is to have a flower shape made out of the shells on the top of the box and scattered shells on the sides. Don't forget to brush the PVA glue all over the box and the lid separately - you don't want to accidentally glue your box closed!
