Nature-Friendly Wind Sock

Make this wind sock from used items and help your little ones learn about recycling. Celebrate Earth Day every day!

What You’ll Need

used dairy container
old ribbons, colored paper or fabric scraps
scissors
glue or tape

Instructions

1. Wash and dry the dairy container.

2. Cut the old ribbons, colored paper or fabric scraps into strips about 3 feet long and 1-2 inches wide. Tape or glue the strips all around the edge of the container.

3. Punch 2 holes on either side of the container. Tie a length of ribbon through the holes to make a hanger.

4. Hang your wind sock and know you've reduced the amount of trash in the land fills!

Make two or three of these to hang in different spots in your yard or around your house!

Tip: Instead of using a dairy container, try using a pop or sode bottle - wash, let dry and cut off one end. Then attach the fabric, ribbon or paper scraps to the bottom end, hanging the bottle from the top.
