Enjoy a nature walk, learn about different trees and make some jewelry! This activity is chock full of fun and good stuff. Go on a fun nature walk and try to figure out which leaves on the ground came off of which trees. See how many of the trees you can identify. Then pick out your favorite small leaf and make some jewelry you can wear to remember your fun nature walk!

Nature Pendant Supplies

Leaf
Cardboard, plain or printed
PVA glue
Paper punch
Ribbon, lace or yarn

How To Make Your Nature Pendant

1. Find a nice, small leaf that you want on your pendant.

2. Using PVA glue, carefully attach the leaf to a piece of cardboard. You have to be careful that your leaf doesn't crumble when you are gluing it. You might want to pick a leaf that is a little fresher than others to avoid this.

3. When dry, cut around the leaf, leaving a border of at least 1/4 inch around the leaf.

4. Brush another layer of PVA glue all over the leaf. Let that dry completely.

5. Paint some designs on top of the dried glue layer, perhaps color the 1/4 inch border that you left.

5. Punch a hole on top of the pendant. Tie a ribbon through the hole to make a necklace. You could add beads to the ribbon for more decoration if you wanted.

6. Wear your nature pendant with pride and remember your special nature walk every time you wear your necklace!
