> Nature Activities Nature Scavenger HuntAll kids love a scavenger hunt. A nature scavenger hunt will help them to enjoy some of the outdoor things we all some times take for granted. How to PlayIf you don’t live in the country you can do your scavenger hunt at the local park. Start by making a list of things for your children to find. Your list should only include things found in nature.Go through the area you plan on having the scavenger hunt in and look to see what might be available for your children to find. Some ideas would be a certain type of weed or flower, acorns, pine cones, a special type of leaf or a brightly colored leaf. If the area has different types of soil or even colored rocks you can add that to the list. Be sure to make some of the things easy to find and some harder to find. Before starting the scavenger hunt divide your children up. If you have smaller children it is best to form teams so the younger ones have older children to go with. If you are doing this for tweens or teenagers without any younger children then you won’t necessarily need to have teams. Be sure each child has a list of the items they need to find and a paper bag to put the items in. The first person or team to come back with everything on the list in their bag wins. What a great way to get your children involved in nature while having fun too. |
