Living Necklace Materials

Small clear pill bottle
Cotton ball
Seeds
Yarn or ribbon
Scissors

Time to make that living necklace!

1. Wash and dry the pill bottle. (One place you might look for a clear bottle is in the travel section of the grocery or drug store - where they sell those little toothpastes and bottles for shampoo.)

2. Moisten a cotton ball and place it inside the bottle. Put two or three seeds between the cotton and wall of the bottle. Cover the bottle. (You might want to put some small holes in the lid for your child.)

3. Tie some yarn or ribbon around the bottle. Knot the ends together, making an uncommonly cool necklace.

4. You could decorate the yarn with beads or with extra ribbons tied onto it.

4. Wear your New Life Pendant and watch the seeds begin to sprout. "Mommy, Mommy, my necklace is growing!" That will surely put a smile on your face!

5. After your seeds sprout, you can transfer the seedlings to a flower pot or garden and then you can start all over again, with a new necklace!
