> Rainy Day Activities No Sew PillowsYep that’s right a pillow made by your child with no sewing involved. It’s very simple and your child will have a ball from beginning to end. Here’s how it’s done. What You’ll Need* Polar fleece fabric* Fiberfill * Scissors InstructionsHelp your child pick out the fabric they would like to use for their pillow. Be sure there is enough fabric to make two sides of the pillow and about 4 inches extra all the way around to make the fringe. If you would like or if your child is old enough to do it on their own cut the fabric into whatever shape you would like. A heart is a great shape to use when giving the pillow as a gift. Once you have the fabric cut it into two pieces. Again be sure there is about 4 inches more than you will need for the size of your pillow. Now with the scissors cut a fringe all the way around both pieces of fabric. Start at the top right hand corner and tie the fringe together in tight knots. You want your child to do this on both sides and the bottom of the pillow. This ties to the two sides together. Be sure they leave the top open so the filling can be inserted into the pillow. Fill the pillow as full as they would like. The more fiberfill they use the fluffier the pillow will be. Just be sure they don’t fill it so full that it puts too much on the knots causing them to become lose and untie. Once they have filled the pillow go ahead and have them tie the top fringe together. This will finish the pillow. These pillows make great gifts for Mom and Grandma for Mothers Day or even as a present for friends. |
