> Rainy Day Activities No-Sew Stuffed Felt DollThis super-simple doll is really easy to create. It's so simple that your pre-schooler won't get frustrated with the 'work' of making the doll before they get to the 'fun' of decorating it. You may even want to continue this project by making some clothes! What You’ll Need2 felt sheets in desired colorfabric glue scissors cotton balls, cotton quilt batting, or cut up old t-shirts dowel or chopstick for pushing the stuffing in fabric markers or fabric paints wiggly eyes yarn for hair ribbons, lace, scraps of fabric for clothes Instructions1. Cut the felt sheets in the desired shape. Use a basic doll shape; think gingerbread man. Make sure the 2 sheets are exactly the same shape and size. Glue the edges of the shapes together using fabric glue. Leave a 2-inch opening for the stuffing. Let dry completely.2. Make stuffing by tearing up cotton balls or cotton quilt batting, if you have it, or even old t-shirts, cut up. When the fabric glue is completely dry, push the stuffing little by little into the doll. Use a dowel or chopstick to push the stuffing into corners or narrow parts of the doll. Close the opening with fabric glue. 3. Add the doll's features using wiggly eyes, yarn for hair, fabric paints or markers, ribbons, and lace. Use scraps of fabric to create clothing. |
