Note Carrier

Fun to make and useful beside a phone!

What You’ll Need

toilet paper tube
construction paper or colored paper
scissors
glue
old newspaper or magazine
small box
bond paper
paper punch
yarn or ribbon
pencil
paints and paintbrushes
markers

Instructions

1. Wrap the toilet paper tube with construction paper in desired color.

2. Crumple a piece of old newspaper or magazine into a ball that's small enough to fit inside the toilet paper tube. Stuff the paper ball into one end of the tube and tape shut. This will be the bottom of the note carrier.

3. Cut out arms and legs from construction or colored paper. Glue to the toilet paper tube. Add details, such as a collar or necktie, shirt and pants and other features using paint or markers or pieces of colored paper.

3. Take a small box and paint or wrap it in the desired color. Cut bond paper into a size that fits into the small box. Glue the box to the back of the note carrier.

4. Now make the note carrier's head. Cut a head out of construction paper. Draw eyes, a nose and a mouth. Punch a hole on top of the head and tie pieces of yarn or ribbon to look like hair. Glue the head to the eraser end of the pencil.

5. Put the note carrier beside a phone and use it next time you need to take a message!

This is a fun project to make with your kids. Let them do the decorating, drawing and gluing. It would also be fun to let them deliver the note once someone calls! If you do not cover up the top opening of the tube with the note carriers head, you can easily roll up the note and put it in there. Then your children could take the note carrier and deliver the message!
