Ornament Tradition - Start a Collection

On my first Chirstmas, my Mom bought a 'Baby's 1st Christmas' ornament in the shape of a nutcracker. The following Christmas she uncovered the ornament while decorating and decided she would get me another
nutcracker for my second Christmas. Our special family holiday tradition was born.

Each year growing up I received a new nutcracker for Christmas from my Mom and still do to this day. When I "left the nest" I had a huge collection of nutcrackers, each bearing a memory of a special Christmas from my childhood, and a good start on decorations for my own home. I have carried on this tradition with my daughters as well and hope that they will pass it down to my grandchildren some day.
