Here's a simple but fun activity that will give you something to do with your old newspapers.

What You’ll Need

Brown paper bags
Old newspapers
Tape
Markers
Construction paper
Glue
Paint

Optional: googly eyes, feathers and other materials for accessories; old cereal boxes

Instructions

1. Using markers, draw a farm animal's face on one side of the brown paper bag. Use children's books as reference for how to draw the animal features.

2. Crumple up old newspapers and stuff them into the paper bag. Tape the bag shut.

3. Cut out ears, hair, beaks and other animal features from the construction paper. Glue or tape them onto the paper bag animal.

4. If you have other craft materials such as googly eyes, feathers, and pipe cleaners, use these to create more of the animal's features. Or make jazzy animals by using glittery paper and bright colors.

5. Make a barn or wooden fence out of old cereal boxes. Create several paper bag animals and you've got a farm!
